Although his salary is barely enough to feed the whole family, he takes care of his family with an optimistic nature and a penchant for laughter. However, due to his old age, he becomes laid off from the company -- [v. 2]. The story of a family torn apart by conflicting loyalties during and after the Korean War -- [v. 3]. The mother Wan-deuk never knew is a Filipino immigrant and she wants to see him.
