- As in other countries, there is a discussion in Sweden as to how the work substance changes when companies introduce lean production or variants of the same. In this report the authors will explain the development of the work organization as well as the competence of the operators at Volvo's private car production in Torslanda. A short presentation is given of an integrated production system and how kVolvo is trying to adapt to that. This provides the necessary overall context in order to understand the introduction of QPE-work-groups. (QPE: Quality, Precise delivery and Efficiency-work-groups). The educational aim was to provide wide-ranging knowledge rather than a narrow vocational training. All courses are part of the courses offered in upper secondary schools and fullfill the qualification requirements needed for the training of engineers at university level.
